Recently, I was visiting a friend who had moved into her home in 1970. She mentioned how amazed she is that the Sequia tree in her back yard is so big. When she moved in it was less than 5 foot tall, now it towers beyond 100 feet. It is a sight to behold, in a land full of houses and few trees.
She also frequently tells me how a Real Estate agent approached her to have the tree topped, so that the house they were trying to sell would have a view. Being a nice neighbor she investigated the concept, and found out it wasn't her tree that would obstruct the view, it was her neighbors bedroom wing that would obstruct the view.
Every time she views the tree; she is glad she didn't listen to the Real Estate agent.
The property behind her has changed hands at least 5 times in the last 10 years, the tree remains intact. The Beauty continuse to grow.
